Description
In late 1956, Harley Earl, General Motors' foremost designer, put his stamp of approval on the Chevrolet design team's drawings for the new Impala. With Corvette-like cues, especially the grille, the packaging and dimensions would be a new full-sized sedan with vast appeal across various demographics. In 1963, after three generations of changes and improvements, the Impala featured rectilinear styling with an engine-turned aluminum rear taillight panel surrounded by a chrome border on SS models. It offered jet-smooth styling, with the front and rear fenders appearing V-shaped. The sport sedan featured a new, creased roofline and new 'coved' instrument panel with simple indicator lights for hot and cold engine conditions. The Impala was the top-of-the-line full-sized model offering from Chevrolet, had the most standard features and could be optioned with most anything. Offered here is a tastefully customized and modified 1963 Chevrolet Impala with incredible attention to detail, including smooth one-piece front and rear bumpers, new glass and weatherstripping. Modernizing performance and good looks for a full-sized sport sedan begins with a 350ci power plant using a March serpentine belt system backed by a 700R automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear end. Just amazing responsiveness is the outcome. Classic Performance Products front and rear suspension with 18- and 20-inch American Racing wheels improves handling, and 4-wheel disc brakes assist with safety in slowing down this beast. Vintage Air keeps passengers cool, with a secret audio sound system and full custom leather interior adding further comfort. This striking third-generation Impala custom is ready to be enjoyed year-round with most of the modern comfort and conveniences of today's automobiles.
