Description
-SALE PENDING-1993 marked the 40th anniversary of Chevrolet introducing the Corvette, and they wanted to celebrate it. The automaker decided that of the 22,058 Corvettes made that year, 6,749 would be built with a special '40th Anniversary' package that featured unique Ruby Red paint with a matching red leather interior. Under the hood, most cars came equipped with a 5.7-liter LT1 V8 engine and a 700R4 automatic transmission as standard, with a 6-speed manual as an option. The option code for the 40th Anniversary edition was Z25, and it cost an additional $1,455. Included with the special paint and interior were 40th anniversary badges inside and out. Amenities like air conditioning, power windows and locks were standard, with a variety of options available. This particular example is a true time capsule, with just under 5,000 miles on the odometer from new in 1993. The car is 100% original and unrestored, having been cared for exceptionally well through its life, with only consumables like fluids and tires being changed. The special Ruby Red paint still has the showroom shine without excessive chipping or wear. The red leather seats are still soft with no signs of wear or cracking, even on the side bolsters. Mechanically the car runs very strong and shifts smoothly through the gears of the 6-speed manual transmission. Everything, from the air conditioning to the power windows and seats, works, and it retains the original factory Dolby stereo as well. The factory red cloth convertible top is in fantastic shape with no rips, and the rear window is clear with no yellowing or cracking. As a low-mileage example of a special edition, this Corvette is a great piece for any collector or enthusiast.
