Description
--SALE PENDING--The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray took the sports car world by storm. Derived from Bill Mitchell’s 1957 SS racer and XP-720 prototype, it had hidden headlights, a knife-edge front and horizontal rib round the car. New fastback coupe bodywork featured a one-year-only split back window and doors that cut into the roof. The frame was four inches shorter than the 1962 model, as well as lighter and stiffer- an arguably radical change from previous Corvettes. Taking these changes a step further for the next generation of enthusiasts, this unique body was combined with modern components, bringing us this modern-day phenomenon.Previously featured in Super Chevy and Hot Rod magazines in 2012-13, this professionally built, full custom ’63 Corvette Split-Window is a stunning piece of art and science. It features an SRIII Supertub tube frame, fully polished LS9 6.2-liter engine supercharged to 744hp, and a fully polished T56 6-speed manual transmission. It has a Dana 44 rear end, carbon-fiber half-shafts, C4 Corvette suspension and a Painless wiring system. Riding on ZR1 chrome wheels and tires with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes. It also features an Aeromotive 5000 fuel system with 3” custom exhaust. The custom soft-hide buffalo leather interior features AutoMeter carbon-fiber gauges, Kenwood stereo system and air conditioning by Vintage Air. A truly no-expense-spared restoration includes an expertly fished custom exterior using PPG paint. No disappointments or apologies to be made for this one-of-a-kind ’63 Split-Window modern muscle machine.
