Description
In 1999 Pontiac Motor Division celebrated the 30th anniversary of the longest-running production muscle car ever built: the Firebird Trans Am. The 30th Anniversary T/A paid homage to the original 1969 version with its dramatic blue-on-white color scheme and muscular bodywork, but that wasn’t all: The 1999 version offered an optional Ram Air performance and handling package with Corvette’s 5.7-liter V8, giving it jaw-dropping performance in the day. With functional air scoops, 5-spoke 17” high-polished aluminum wheels, low-restriction dual exhaust, specific tuned suspension and a power steering cooler, it was one of the best-performing muscle cars money could buy. With a clean, one-owner CARFAX, this example was purchased new at Peoria Pontiac in Arizona, and lived all of its life in the Grand Canyon State, accumulating just 39,125 miles on the odometer. Included in the sale is the original Window Sticker, dealer addendum (showing a $3,000 limited-edition markup), owner’s manual and even a “new” 20-year old hat from the dealer, making it a special car indeed. With a total of only 1,500 30th Anniversary cars produced, just 535 examples were convertibles, and only 175 of these were fitted with the 6-speed manual transmission like this example, making it the one to own for a rare, investment-grade Trans Am.
