Description
When Dodge revived the Challenger in 2008, the retro inspiration was obvious. Bold sculpted lines formed a muscular and aggressive look, and under the hood was the classic muscle car formula of a big V8 and rear-wheel drive. When the 2014 model year launched, buyers had the option to take the nostalgic inspiration to the next level with the limited edition R/T Shaker model. Available in the R/T variant with the 5.7-liter HEMI, the hood featured a large cutout with the iconic Shaker air scoop bulging through as a nod to the iconic design feature of '70 and '71 Challengers. Powered by a 375hp 5.7-liter V8, buyers had a choice of an automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. The interior featured high-performance leather-wrapped front seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a 6.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen entertainment system. A performance tubed suspension was added, along with polished-face 5-spoke aluminum wheels. Dodge built just 1,000 examples with the iconic Shaker package, making them hard to come by.This particular example is finished in white, with a black interior featuring orange contrast stitching. It's equipped with an automatic transmission, touchless entry and push-button start. Having covered just 11,200 miles from new, it is a showroom-pristine example of a limited-production muscle car. With the popularity of the Challenger since it was reintroduced, as well as being one of only 1,000 and with incredibly low mileage, this is sure to be a favorite among collectors.
