DESCRIPTION
Ford truck people went back to the drawing board five years after the F-1’s debut, this time shelling out a reported $30 million on what arguably represented Detroit's earliest application of an ergonomic study ? at least as far as truck development history is concerned. The result was the F-100, a milestone pickup if there ever was one. The most popular and unique year of this generation Ford is the 1956 model, as this was the only year of this generation that had a wrap-around windshield. Stunning in its looks and uniqueness when compared to earlier models, people can spot a ’56 from a block away. Starting with a visually appealing truck, the restoration and attention to detail on the build of this pro-touring “big-window” just gets better and better. A 505hp LS7 engine mated to a 4L70E automatic transmission provides an impressive power foundation. Underneath, there’s a boxed frame with a Newman Car Creations all-Corvette suspension, carbon-fiber driveshaft and half shafts, tilt hood and exhaust by Lemon Headers. The rear fenders are widened by 2-1/2” and the laser-straight all-original steel body is covered in beautiful maroon paint. It also has rounded door corners and a custom rear bumper. The entire truck has been soundproofed with Dynamat. The custom interior features Ron Francis Wiring, a Kenwood stereo with Garmin GPS, stock dash with gauge cluster redone by Redline, an Ididit chrome tilt steering column, Vintage Air, Eldorado leather 6-way power seats, and electric seats, windows and door locks. This custom pickup rides on 18” Billet Specialties wheels.
